Use sparingly
Fake-formatted text isn't read correctly by screen readers. Keep the sentence intelligible without the styling.
Bold beats italic for scanning
Bold survives LinkedIn's small font size better than italic. Reserve italic for short asides.
Underline and strikethrough are fragile
They rely on stacked Unicode marks. Keep those selections short, long strings can render oddly on some devices.
